More than a dozen local veterans reported to the MANA House in Phoenix Monday night to cook, serve and enjoy meals with residents of the housing facility for homeless veterans.

The MANA House, located at 755 E. Willetta Street, is a nonprofit transitional housing facility for homeless veterans in the Phoenix area.

The event was hosted by The Mission Continues, a national nonprofit organization that empowers veterans to serve their country in new ways.

Rachel Gutierrez, the service platoon leader for the Phoenix division of The Mission hire vetsContinues, says the core spirit of The Mission Continues is getting veterans together to serve together again as they served in the military through projects that solve problems in the community.
