Veterans Partnering with Communities provides resources and programs within the Inland area to eliminate homelessness and unemployment within the veteran community.
Danny Marquez, president of the nonprofit Veterans Partnering with Communities organization saw that there was a need for a resource center in the Inland area and decided to make it happen. Working out of Fontana, Marquez, himself a veteran, joined with community leaders and other veterans’ organizations to start the organization in 2006.
Assisting veterans in navigating the HUD-VA Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH), a joint effort by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Veterans Administration, is one of the group’s main goals.
HUD-VASH provides housing vouchers that allow homeless veterans to rent privately owned housing.
