Spiritual Intelligence, The Cosmology of Consciousness and Our Co-Creative Powers

by Steve Robertson

PART I – The Cosmology of Consciousness, Miracles, and New Co-Created PossibilitiesĀ

Like a musical note seeking union with the harmony of itself, the soul returns to human form, to earth, in order to heal and integrate into a more perfect remembrance of the Divinity of love it already is. The soul, on this plane of reality, innocently expresses itself through the lens of the bodyā€™s DNA. This crystalline prism holds the harmonic records of our soulā€™s evolutionary journey towards enlightenment.Ā  In Sanskrit and ancient Hindu teachings, this soul record or blueprint is known as the Akashic Records.

ā€œConsciousness is somehow a by-product of the simultaneous, high-frequency firing of neurons in different parts of the brain. Itā€™s the meshing of the frequencies that generate consciousness, just as tones from individual instruments produces the rich, complex, and seamless sounds of a symphony orchestra.ā€ ā€“ Francis Crick, co-discoverer of DNA

Image result for crystal in a radio transmitter

Francis Crick, the co-discoverer of DNA, likened DNA to a crystal.Ā Ā Interestingly, in the early stages of the invention of the radio, it was referred to as a Crystal-Set.Ā Ā The reason for this was that there was a literal small crystal embedded within the circuitry of the radio that served to electronically capture/receive the broadcasted or transmitted radio frequencies.

Various religious and spiritual texts purport that the cosmology from which the Divine transmits its perpetual loving guidance is known by the term of ā€œMusic of the Spheres”.Ā  It is understood and believed that the aim of this transmission is to serve and guide both individual and collective consciousness towards a greater state of enlightenment.Ā Ā Ā Respective to oneā€™s belief and faith in such religious promises it is interesting to note that the Upanishads, the oldest recorded spiritual text on the planet, actually translates into ā€œThe Last Songā€. And, the Bhagavad-Gita, the worldā€™s second-oldest spiritual text translates into ā€œSong Celestialā€ or ā€œSong of the Lordā€.Ā Ā Finally, in the Bible, the word ā€œWordā€ literally translates into ā€œPrimary Harmony.ā€

ā€œIn the beginning was the word,ā€ (the ā€œwordā€ translates into ā€œprimary harmonyā€, according to John the Evangelist of the first century A.D.) ā€œand the word was with God,ā€ says John 1:1. ā€œThen God said, Let there be light,ā€ says Genesis 1:3. Buddhists call the primary harmony ā€œOM.ā€

YOUR DNA AS A COSMICĀ RECORD OF YOUR SOUL’S EVOLUTIONARY JOURNEY

Respectively as such, it stands to reason that all thoughts and actions, loving or fearful, would be recorded onto the soul’s DNA record.Ā  Ā Imagine this Akashic Record, if you will, as your soulā€™s cosmic cloud memory. Each and every thought, action, and experience of your past and present life is recorded, becomes imprinted, and integrated into your DNA.Ā Ā As our thoughts advance towards the greater integrity of love or into a more integrated state of the I AM (realized enlightenment), so does the DNA (the soulā€™s physical antenna), helixes back and forth in correlation to this awareness and in direct connection with the Divine’s transmission.

ā€œIf you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.ā€Ā – Nikola Tesla

ENERGY/VIBRATION THE FOUNDATION OF HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS

569-475 BC: Ā PythagorasĀ ā€œThe octave formed a circle and gave our noble earth its form.ā€

106-43 BC: CiceroĀ ā€œIn ancient times music was the foundation of all the sciences. Education was begun with music with the persuasion that nothing could be expected of a man who was ignorant of music.ā€

14th Century Sufi poet HafizĀ Ā “People say that the soul, on hearing the song of creation, entered the body, but in reality, the soul itself was the song.

HolyScience1901cvr

“Through the holy effect of mantra, the Pranava or Aum sound becomes audible. Ā The sacred sound is heard in various ways, according to the devotee’s stage of advancement (in purifying his heart)…Aum is heard through the cultivation of Sraddha (“heart’s na”) from “The Holy Science” by Swami Sri Yukteswar (1855-1936)

Research has shown that music has the power to change emotional states, change perceptions and physiology, and elevate spiritual awareness.Ā  Certain types of music, devotional and sacred in nature, also have the power to transform individuals and collective consciousness into the heightened states of love, forgiveness, compassion and physical healing.

Such heightened states of loving awareness are what empowers human consciousness to more empathetically identify with disharmonious societal and geopolitical issues, Ā environmental imbalances and attune to a deeper awareness of the root causes behind physical health situations. Ā  This same heightened awareness is what inspires the ability to envision, co-create and implement solutions for these various disharmonies.

This paper, which I wrote over a ten year period of time, explores the possibility of how a globally-broadcast concert of spiritually inspired music can potentially shift collective awareness so that each person can authentically experience their own innate Divinity.

This reference point of the Divine within is what ultimately inspires the awareness to intentionally look for this same Divinity in the eyes of another person, in the eyes of the animals and in the eyes of mother earth. In this state of sacred awareness, we can choose to evolve and honor the spiritual, cultural and ethnic diversity that is the watershed of Godā€™s loving and creative expression towards ALL.

Wolfgang AmadeusĀ Mozart (1756-1791):Ā  ā€œThe wonders of the music of the future will be of a higher & wider scale and will introduce many sounds that the human ear is now incapable of hearing. Among these new sounds will be the glorious music of angelic chorales. As men hear these they will cease to consider Angels as figments of their imagination.ā€

ā€ā€ØThomas Carlyle (1795-1881):Ā  See deep enough, and you see musically; the heart of nature being everywhere musicā€¦ā€

“A disciple, while passing through different stages (of awareness), becomes able to conceive the different objects of creation in his heart: and how he actually gradually advances through the states of meditation and how, ultimately, by the concentrating his attention on the sensorium, he perceives the peculiar sound, Pranava or Sabda, the Holy Word, at which time the heart becomes divine and the ego, Ahamkara, or son of man becomes merged or baptized in the stream thereof, ad the disciple becomes Siddha, an adept, a divine personage.”Ā from “The Holy Science” by Swami Sri Yukteswar (1855-1936)

Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-1872)Ā ā€œMusic is the harmonious voice of creation: an echo of the invisible world, one note of the divine concord that the entire universe is destined one day to sound.ā€

Ā Paramahansa Yogananda:Ā “Sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the universe. Music is a divine art, to be used not only for pleasure but as a path to God-realization. Vibrations resulting from devotional singing lead to attunement with the Cosmic Vibration or the Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

ā€œā€¦man is a musical being. His origin is in the spoken Word. By sound was he sustained and by the music he evolved. One day he will recognize music as a vital factor in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual evolution of the whole human race.ā€ā€ØCorinne Heline, considered a Christian Mystic, author of 28 books (1882-1975)

Ā

“I believe that from the earth emerges a musical poetry which is by the nature of its sources tonal. Ā  I believe that these sources cause to exist a phonology of music, which evolves from the universal known as the harmonic series. And that there is an equally universal musical syntax, which can be codified and structured in terms of symmetry and repetition.” – Leonard Bernstein

Ā Ā The earth and universe, according to all major religious texts, were created and brought into form through sound. Ā The Upanishads which is considered the oldest spiritual text on our planet (10,000 years older than the Bible) actually translates into “The Last Song.”

HISTORIC SPIRITUAL TEXTS, MUSIC, AND VIBRATIONĀ

The Hindu Bhagavad-Gita, which predates the Bible by some three thousand years, literally translates into “Celestial Song.”Ā  Itsā€™ text states: “In the beginning was Brahman, with whom was theĀ Word, and the Word was Brahman and BrahmanĀ said this world shall be and the world came into being.”

Ā Ā

“And God SAID ‘Let there be light.” – Genesis

Similarly, in the Bible’s Gospel of John it states:Ā  “In the beginning was theĀ Word, andĀ theĀ WordĀ was with God, andĀ theĀ WordĀ was God.” According to John the Evangelist in the first century A.D., the Biblical translations of theĀ ‘Word’ meansĀ ‘Primary Harmony.’

Ā Ā

Egyptian religious texts state that theĀ Singing Sun created the world with its cry of light.Ā Ā He sang: “This world shall be,” and the world came into being.Ā  The religious texts of the Aztecs also referred to God as the ‘Creator’ and state that ā€œHeĀ sang the world into existence.ā€

Hindu teachings describe the ‘Word’ in terms of the sound ‘Om,’ which is the vibratory essence of God and the creative energy used to bring the universe into existence.Ā  Buddhists refer to this energy as the ‘Primal Vibration,’ teaching that it was divided into 12 tonal derivations, each of which gave rise to and corresponded with the 12 signs of the Zodiac, the 12 months of the year, the 12 hours of the day (yang), the 12 hours of night (Yin), as well as the 12 notes of the chromatic scale.

“All things are aggregations of atoms that dance and by their movement produce sound. Ā When the rhythm of the dance changes, the sound it produces also changes . . .Ā Each atom perpetually sings its song, and the sound at every moment creates dense subtle forms.”Ā ā€“ Alexandra David-Neel, Belgian-French opera star, and explorer (1868-1969). Ā Author of over 30 books. This quote from “Magic and Mystery in Tibet”.

Music and all audible sound, according to these spiritual texts, represented the audible manifestation of the “Word,” ‘OM,’ or ‘Primal Vibration.’

Ā

In fact, the great Sufi master, Hazrat Inayat Khan, went so far as to say:Ā  “What makes us feel drawn to music is that our whole being is music; our mind and body, the nature in which we live, the nature which has made us, all that is beneath and around us, it is all music.ā€

ā€œSounds are the echo of the ā€œHarmony of the Spheresā€ which man took into himself when he came down from the divine-spiritual world into the physical world.ā€ā€ØDr. Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925)

ā€œI tell you truly when we are born, we enter the world with the sound of God in our ears, even the singing of the vast chorus of the sky, and the holy chant of the stars in their fixed rounds; it is the Holy Stream of Sound.ā€ā€ØEdmond Bordeaux Szekely (translation of the Essene Gospel of Peace) (1900-1979)

ā€œIf you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.ā€Ā -Nikola Tesla

In physics, AlbertĀ Einstein’s statement, “Energy and mass (matter) are different forms of the same thing mass/energy,” creates the foundation for understanding the energetic/vibratory nature of all matter.Ā Ā Ā  As energy increases, matter begins to take form.

CYMATICS, HOW ENERGY TAKES FORM

Ā

In the 19th Century, physicist Ernst Chlandi discovered that when he sprinkled sand onto a flat surface affixed to a pedestal base and then drew a violin bow perpendicularly across the edge of the surface, round, mandala-like shapes were formed as the grains of sand were moved by the sound waves generated.

Ā Ā

This work was followed by Dr. Hans Jenny in a field he named ‘Cymatics’ or the study of waves.Ā  Jenny was able to capture on a device called a ā€œTonescope,ā€ the patterns of a circle when “OM,” the sound associated with God, was chanted into this device.Ā  He also discovered that concentric diamond shapes also formed within the circle during the process.

“Architecture is crystallized music.”Ā  – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (German philosopher, 1749-1832)Ā

Music differs from other art forms, such as paintings, sculptures, photography, or literature, in that they express more of a linear or more of a one and two-dimensional form of matter/energy than does music.

As such, these art forms are processed by either one or the other brain hemispheres.Ā Ā  Music, as a type of matter, remains in a vibratory state and is thus processed holographically, or byĀ both the right (intuitive) and the left (analytical) hemispheres of the brain.

The philosopher and poet William Kindler proclaimed that “of all of the arts, music is the perfect art because it strikes the soul without the aid of the intellect.”

Ā Ā

“The Science of the future will be based on sympathetic vibrations.”Ā  –Ā Dr. Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925)

ā€œEventually, musical therapists will compose prescriptions after the manner of a pharmacistā€¦ā€ā€ØDr. Ira Altschuler (of the Eloise State Hospital) (1942)

THE LAW OF SYMPATHETIC VIBRATION AND ENTRAINMENTĀ

Music affects consciousness because of two Laws of Physics:Ā  the first is called theĀ Law of Sympathetic Vibration,Ā and the secondĀ is the Law of Entrainment. Ā

The Law of Sympathetic Vibration works like this: take two acoustical (string-type) musical instruments, such as a piano, violin, or guitar, and place them near one another. As the string on instrument A is struck, the vibration from that instrument will resonate and carry across the space between the two instruments striking the strings on the untouched instrument B causing it to vibrate.

Likewise, this Law of Physics is what facilitates the communication and transference of a song’s emotional message (harmony or melody)Ā from the mind of the composer and its performersĀ to the mind of the listener(s), thus causing the person to feel and to take on the corresponding emotional essenceĀ of a songā€™s compositional intent (happy or depressed, peaceful or violent, hopeful or hopeless, and so on).

Similarly, the Law of Sympathetic Vibration explains why a person gets ā€œgoosebumpsā€ when listening to a song.

“The companions of right reason are decency, accord, and cadence; decency in song, accord in harmony and cadence in rhythm.”Ā  – PlatoĀ

TheĀ Law of Entrainment, or as it is technically called, ‘mutual phase-locking of two oscillators’, was first described by a Danish physicist, Dutch Scientist Christian Huygens,Ā in 1665. Ā He also formulated the second law of motion and wave theory of light (which two centuries later, became instrumental in the understanding ofĀ wave-particle duality.)

This Law of Physics was discovered one afternoon as the physicist observed the armature motion of two pendulum type clocks that he had placed side-by-side on a fireplace mantel.Ā Ā  Initially, the armatures swung in opposition to one another.Ā  Then, after a short period of time, they began swinging in unison (entraining).Ā  This Law of physics occurs as a result of energy always seeking the path of least resistance or, said another way, finding the most efficient means of expressing itself.

In other words, objects (clock armatures) moving in unison (harmony/entrain) expresses a more efficient use of energy than when they move in opposition (disharmony) to one another. Similarly, the Law of Entrainment is what causes the unconscious neurological tendency of a person to move their body or tap their foot in rhythm to the music.

“The noble-minded man’s music is mild and delicate, keeps a uniform mood, enlivens and moves.Ā Such a man does not harbor pain nor mourn in his heart; violent and daring movements are foreign to him.”Ā  – CONFUCIUSĀ (551ā€“479 BC)

Ancient Chinese philosophers believed that music was an energy formula that could be used for either the benefit of humankind or misused according to free will.Ā In one of their most revered texts, ‘The Spring and Autumn of Lu Buwei it states: “When desires and emotions do not follow false paths, then music can be perfected.Ā  Perfected music has it’s cause.Ā  It arises out of justice.Ā  Justice arises from the true purpose of the world.”

So strong was the Chinese belief in using music to promote peace that every word for music (Yuo) is represented by the same graphic symbol as the word serenity (lo).Ā  To the Chinese, music represented the highest form of prayer and the most powerful means of directing consciousness towards spiritual realization.

Therefore, it was important that composers and performers understood, integrated and aligned themselves with the higher order thoughts of love so that their music promoted a harmonious vision for people.Ā

“A Psalm is the tranquility of souls, the arbitrator of peace, restraining the disorder and the turbulence of thoughts, for it softens the passion of the soul and moderates unruliness . . .So that the singing of psalms brings love, the greatest of good things summoning the help of angels.”Ā – The Christian Church of St. Basil

David Tame noted author ofĀ The Secret Power of MusicĀ states:Ā  “Surely the lowest common denominator which determines the precise nature of any musical work is the mental and emotional state of the composer and/or performer.Ā  It is the essence of this state which enters into us, tending to mold and shape our own consciousness into conformity with itself.

The fact is that all types of musicians, good and bad, tend to be quite aware of the communicative power of tonal art.Ā  Through this communicative power, the emotional state of one artist can be transferred to a hundred, or even ten million listeners.”

Ā “A great musical performance is actually an exercise in the accurate and exquisite communication of emotions. Ā For the audience to feel the emotion in a musical phrase the performer must also feel it in mind, body, and spirit.”Ā Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)

Throughout history, numerous noted scholars have been interested in the relationship between a musician’s creative intention and the resulting composition’s effect on the emotional and spiritual state of the listener.Ā  One of the earliest recorded observations was made by Iamblichus, a pupil of Pythagoras.

He observed,Ā  “And there are certain melodies devised as remedies against the passions of the soul, and also against despondency and lamentation, which Pythagoras invented as things that afford the greatest assistance in these maladies.Ā  And again, he employed other melodies against rage and anger, and against every aberration of the soul.”

Ā In Timaeus, Plato stated, “Man’s music is seen as a means of restoring the souls, rendered confused and discordant by bodily affliction, the harmonic proportions that it shares with the world soul of the cosmos.”

Ā Aristotle also concluded that, “Emotions of any kind are produced by melody and rhythm; therefore by music, a man becomes accustomed to feeling the right emotions; music has thus the power to form character, and the various kinds of music based on the various modes, may be distinguished by their effects on character- one, for example, working in the direction of melancholy, another of effeminacy; one encouraging abandonment, another self-control, another enthusiasm, and so on throughout the series.”

Ā

Ā “Music is the shorthand of emotions.”Ā  – Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910)

Ā “All conditions and all circumstances in our lives are a result of a certain level of thinking. Ā If we want to change the conditions and circumstances, we have to change the level of thinking that is responsible for it.”Ā  – Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

THE PHYSICS OF THOUGHTS TAKING FORM

Ā

In the early 1800s, Thomas Young, an English physicist (1773-1829), conducted ground-breaking research to establish that light traveled in a wave-like pattern in what he termed the “double-slit experiment.”

Ā

Approximately one hundred years later, Einstein’s experiments on light proved that it traveled in a straight line (or as though it had been shot out of a gun) in what he termed the “photoelectric principle.”Ā  These differing conclusions confounded the physics community who pondered how could light travel in both a wave pattern and also in a straight line?

THE HEISENBERG UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLEĀ

Ā

In 1934, WernerĀ Heisenberg (1901-1976), the renowned German physicist, answered this question in his experiments, which lead to the principle of quantum mechanics, called the “Uncertainty Principle.” Ā Heisenbergā€™s experiments concluded that the very act of observing a natural phenomenon actually changes what is being observed.

In other words, if the experimenter’s hypothesis is that light travels in a wave pattern, as was the case with Young, then these thoughts literally cause the light particles at a subatomic level to conform to this outcome. Similarly, if the experimenter sought to prove the hypothesis that light traveled in a straight line, as thought Einstein, then these thoughts caused that outcome.

Ā “The superior man tries to promote music as a means to the perfection of human culture.Ā  When such music prevails and when people’s minds are lead to the right ideals and aspirations, we may see the appearance of a great nation.”Confucius (551-479 BCE)

The phenomenon of thoughts causing specific outcomes, as defined by Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, has been described by spiritual doctrines throughout history in terms of how humans express free will and co-create.Ā  “As a man acts, so does he become.Ā  As a man’s desire is, so is his destiny, “states the Upanishads.

“All that we are is a result of what we have thought,” stated Buddha.

The Bibleā€™s King Solomon said, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Interestingly, the root origin of the word “man”Ā meansĀ consciousness.

Shakespeare concluded,Ā  “Nothing is either good nor bad, but thinking it makes it so.”

Ralph WaldoĀ Emerson (1803-1882), aĀ pioneering American essayist, lecturer, and poet, who led the Transcendentalist movement)Ā proclaimed,Ā  “The ancestor of every action is thought.”

Ā “The profound meaning of music and its essential aim . . .Ā is to produce a communion, a union of man with his fellow man and with the Supreme Being.”Ā Ā  –Ā  Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971)

Ā Pythagoras (570BC-495BC), the father of mathematics, believed that the philosophical principles of love, peace, wisdom, compassion, forgiveness, and joy were embodied in the harmonics of what he termed, ā€œMusic of the Spheres.ā€

This music, he believed, was heard and recreated in proportion to the composer’s level of spiritual evolution and most importantly their intent to create compositions from that devotional mindset.Ā  This state of spiritual intention, according to history’s great mystics,Ā  is accessed through a devotional and contemplative listening to the small, still, voice within that guides the self into union with Divine Will. Ā

“Be still and know that I AM God.” says the Bible in Psalms 46:10.Ā

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952), authorĀ Autobiography of a YogiĀ  stated, “The Veda’s, India’s most ancient scriptures, were divinely revealed to the rishis, or ‘seers.’Ā  It was a revelation by sound, directly heard.”

Ā  Aldous HuxleyĀ (1894-1963) said, “After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”

Ā  Ā Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931), author ofĀ The ProphetĀ said: “My soul counseled me and charged me to listen for voices that rise neither from the tongue nor the throat.Ā  Before that day, I heard but dully, and naught save clamor and loud cries came to my ears; but now I have learned to listen to silence, to hear its choirs singing the song of ages, chanting the hymns of space, and disclosing the secrets of eternity.”

Carl Jung (1875-1961)Ā ā€œDeeply listening to music opens up new avenues of research Iā€™d never even dreamed of. I feel from now on music should be an essential part of every analysis.ā€

Kitaro:Ā Ā “I never had education in music, I just learned to trust my ears and my feelings. This music is not from my mind. It is from heaven, going through my body and out my fingers through composing. Sometimes I wonder. I never practice. I don’t read or write music, but my fingers move. I wonder, ‘Whose song is this?’ I write my songs, but they are not my songs.”

(Steve & Kitaro)

Ā Ā “I function as a channel through which music emerges from the chaos of noise.”Ā Vangelis, composer of Chariots of Fire

Ā “from the deeply laid principles of inherited associations,Ā musical tonesĀ would be likely to excite in us, Ā in an indefinite manner, the strong emotions of a long-past age.”Ā  ā€“ Charles Darwin (1809-1882)

Ā ā€œTo the Greeks, the supreme function of music was to ā€œpraise the gods and educate the youthā€. In Egyptā€¦ Initiatory music was heard only in Temple rites because it carried the vibratory rhythms of other worlds and of a life beyond the mortal.ā€ā€ØPlutarch (46-120 AD)

Ā Ā

From birth, our consciousness is hard-wired to hear and to listen.Ā  The first bone to develop in the human fetus is the ear bone, the first sense to develop in the fetus is hearing. Ā HearingĀ is the last sense to go when we die.

The cochlea, part of the inner ear, looks like the shell of a snail.Ā  In it, there are some 60,000 hair cells, each of which resonates like a microscopic tuning fork, to a specific frequency or sound.Ā  As one of these specific hair cells resonates, a corresponding neurological impulse is sent to the brain, causing the release of neuropeptides, or what is called ā€œcommunicator molecules.ā€

Ā Ā ā€œWe grown-up people think that we appreciate music, but if we realized the sense that an infant has brought with it of appreciating sound and rhythm, we would never boast of knowing music. The infant is music itself.ā€Ā Hazrat Inayat Khan, 14th century.

“Music is the mediator between the life of the senses and the life of spirit.”Ā  – Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)

Ā  Ā  According to Candace Pert, Ph.D., former Chief of Brain Biochemistry at the Clinical Neuroscience Branch of the National Institute of Health, “Everything in your body is being run by these messenger molecules, many of which are peptides. …A peptide is made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins.Ā  Peptides are amino acids strung together.Ā  They (peptides) appear to mediate intercellular communication throughout the brain and body.Ā  We’ve actually found the material manifestations of emotions in these peptides and their receptors. Emotions, they’re the bridge between the mental and the physical or the physical and the mental….Our organs and tissues are physically affected by moods and attitudes because they come from the realm of the mind and transform themselves in the physical realm through the emotions.Ā Ā  Emotions affect whether we’ll get sick from the same loading dose of a virus and directly influence the probability that an organism will get sick.ā€™”

Ā “Every sickness is a musical problem, the healing, therefore, is a musical resolution.”Ā Novalis (Georg Philipp Friedrich Freiherr von Hardenberg; 1772-1801), the 18th-century German mystic poet.

Ā  Ā Similarly,Ā Margret Kemeny, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the University of California, states “We tend to think of feeling happy or sad as intangible.Ā  We experience these emotions, but we don’t imagine that they have physical correlates.Ā  But in fact, when we feel happy or sad or angry or afraid, very specific changes take place in particular regions of the brain.”

In 1964, the renowned biochemist, Anfinsen, drew an interesting analogy between music and protein molecule stating, (in the 2nd edition of Stryer’s textbook on Biochemistry), “It struck me recently, that one should really consider the sequence of a protein molecule about to fold into a precise geometric form, as a line of melody written in a canon form and so designed by Nature to fold back into itself, creating harmonic chords of interaction consistent with biological function.”

Ā “Consciousness is somehow a by-product of the simultaneous, high-frequency firing of neurons in different parts of the brain. Ā It’s the meshing of these frequencies that generates consciousness, just as tones from individual instrumentsĀ produce the rich, complex, and seamless sounds of a symphony orchestra.”Ā – Francis Crick (1916-2004), Co-Discoverer of DNA

The renowned Japanese mathematician and research scientist, Susumu Ohno, converted the mathematical formulas of living cells into musical notes in an attempt to make the patterns of complex genetic codes more discernable. In another experiment, Ohno reversed the process by converting phosphoglyceride kinase, an enzyme that enables humans to metabolize sugar, into a mathematical formula and then played its musical equivalent to a group of Japanese kindergarteners.

He found that it always put the children to sleep because “It sounds like a lullaby.” In another, he reversed the process, translating the notes of Chopinā€™s funeral march into chemical equations and found the entire passage appeared almost identically to a cancer gene found in humans.

Ohno concluded, “This is not surprising, as nature follows certain physical laws, the universe obeys them, as does the process of life.Ā  Music follows the same patterns as well.”

Ā Ā  Ā Researcher Dorothy Retallack performed strictly regulated scientific experiments to measure the effects of different types of music on plant growth.Ā  In her experiments, music was piped into atmospherically-controlled cabinets that housed seedling plants.

Over the course of several weeks, each of the cabinets/planets was exposed to different types of music for a period of three hours daily.Ā  One group was exposed to acid rock, another to classical music, and a third to devotional music.Ā  Within ten days, plants being exposed to acid rock began leaning away from the speakers and after a month they died.

Plants exposed to classical music leaned towards the speakers and grew at a normally-expected rate.Ā  However, plants exposed to devotional music leaned towards, wrapped around the speakers, and grew two inches taller than the other plants being played classical music.

Ā “I don’t read music.Ā  I have the music in mind and sing with my body.”Ā Ā  – LucianoĀ Pavarotti (1935-2007)

Ā In an article inĀ Scientific American, the Nobel-Prize-winning quantum physicist Brian Josephson, Ph.D., theorized, ā€œthatĀ music stemsĀ less from superficial cultural influences than from timeless universal ā€˜structuresā€™ of the mind.ā€ By probing the human response to music, Josephson stated, ā€œResearchers may discern these structures.ā€

Ā  Carl Jung (1875-1961), the renowned psychiatrist, referred to these “timeless universal structures” as archetypal symbols which, in essence, formed the subconscious software from which human emotions are experienced and from which thoughts are created.

Jung also believed that each person’s thoughts contributed to a planetary matrix he termed the “The Collective Consciousness,” a unified database, from which, each mind both received and contributed information.Ā  Jung’s thesis was later substantiated by the scientific research of world-renowned biologist, Rupert Sheldrake.

Ā “O believe, as thou livest, that every sound that is spoken over the round world,Ā which thou oughtest to hear, will vibrate in thyne ear.” Ā – Ā Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ā In Dr.Ā Rupert Sheldrakeā€™s experiments, he measured the learning curve of individual rats (of the same genetic lineage) as each ran in succession through a maze.Ā  The experiments showed that when Rat A ran through the maze in X time, its’ thought process (or learning curve) was broadcast to and received by the proceeding Rat B, thus reducing its time to run through the maze.

Sheldrake found that when Rat F finally ran the maze it benefited from the aggregate learning curves of Rats A, B, C, D, and E.Ā  From these experiments he concluded, “Everything we do . . . thoughts, feelings, emotions, behavior, is deposited, if you will, in a sort of gigantic information bank that is encoded into this planetary thought field that represents the collective experience of the human race.”Ā  Sheldrake called this thought field the “morphogenetic” or “M-Field.”

“The presence of those whose minds are not purified and still becomes a source of unrest for others as well as for themselves…Ā Everyone is tired by their presence, and their atmosphere causes uneasiness and discomfort.”Ā – The Sufi Message

In Dr. William S. Condon’s 1975 article in theĀ Journal of Autism and Childhood SchizophreniaĀ entitled, ā€œThe Multiple Response to Sound in Dysfunctional Childrenā€Ā he writes, “Just as our internal rhythms are locked on hold with one another, they are alsoĀ entrainedĀ with the outside world.

Our physical and mental states change in rhythm with the seasonal swing of the earth and the sun, with tides, with the day-night cycles and perhaps the cosmic rhythms that present-day science has yet to isolate and define.Ā Ā When these rhythms are forced out of phase, disease is likely and dis-ease is inevitable.”

“Through foolishness, they deceived themselves into thinking that there was no right or wrong in music – that it was to be judged good or bad by the pleasure it gave.Ā  By their work and their theories they infected the masses with the presumption to think themselves, adequate judges . . .Ā As it was, the criterion as not music, but a reputation for promiscuous cleverness and a spirit of law-breaking.” –Ā Ā  Plato, (Laws)

“If one desires to know if a kingdom is well governed, if its morals are good or bad, the quality of the music will furnish the answer.” – Confucius

Is there a relationship between the music that children listen to and the way that they might act and grow up?Ā  An article in ADWEEK noted, “Teenagers and young adults buy more albums than their elders and are more likely to take their message to heart, whether philosophy, politics, or style.ā€Ā  If this is so, we might consider how Nirvanaā€™s 1993 album “In Utero” (meaning ‘in the womb’), which sold over 9 million units worldwide and featured the song written by Kurt Cobain entitled, “I Hate Myself and Want to Die,” might have influenced its listeners.

Coincidently in this same year, the American Psychiatric Association’s Annual Report found “3 to 6 million U.S. children are clinically depressed.”Ā Ā  In 1994, Pearl Jam sold almost 4 million units ofĀ  “Vitalogy,” an album that featured a song that lyrically described a child explaining to a therapist why spankings are better than hugs: “Because you get closer to the person.”

A review by KRT News said the album’s lyrics provided a “harrowing observation that reminds usĀ how effective Pearl Jam has been inĀ using painĀ to make that valued connection with its fans.”Ā  In this same year, UNICEF’s year-end report found that the U.S. ranked third in the world in youth suicides.

Ā “Even music can be intoxicating.Ā  Such apparently slight causes destroyed Greece and Rome,Ā and will destroy England and America.”Ā Ā  – Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862),Ā author, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, and leading transcendentalist.

In 1993, Dr. Jonathan Klein published his research in which he surveyed 2,760 adolescents ranging from ages 14 to 16.Ā  He found that “There is clearly an association between embracing heavy metal-music and risky behavior (smoking marijuana, cheating, stealing, drinking, alcohol and having sex).”Ā This same year

Ā Snoop Doggy Dog released his album, “Doggy Style” which sold almost 1 million units in its first week on sale.Ā  Lyrics from the album stated, “Walking down the street smoking indo (marijuana) sipping on gin and juice . . .Later on that day my boy Dr. Dre came threw [sic] with a gang of tangeray [sic] and a fat ass J of some blue bonic chronic (marijuana).

ā€œThe three goddesses of Beauty, Truth, and Goodness are independent and jealous ladies, each with their own particular sphere of activity…Ā we must clearly differentiate their distinct roles if we are to lay the basis of a valid aesthetic judgment; Ā and it would be perverse to allocate music to any except the first.ā€Ā Ā  –Ā  Francis Routh, an EnglishĀ composer, organist, pianist, and author.

A 1995 University of Michigan study found that “One in four school children have used illegal drugs before reaching High School.”

In this same year of 1995, Green Day, Rolling Stone magazine’s Band-of-the-Year, released their album, “Dookie,” which sold over 5 million units.Ā  Lead band member Dirnt was quoted in a feature article interview as saying: “I think drinking and doing drugs are very important.Ā  Everybody should drop acid at least once.” In this same interview Billie Joe Armstrong, lead guitarist, and vocalist for the group stated, “Say you hate somebody, and you sit and think about every possible way that you could kill them.Ā  You’re like, ‘I f..king hate’em’ . . .Ā  That’s what I like to write about.”

Ā “Rome fell not because of political or economic ineptitude, not even because of barbarian invasions; Rome collapsed through a leaching away of meaning and a loss of faith.Ā  Rome fell because of a barbarization from within.”Ā Lewis Munford (1895-1990), American renowned historian, sociologist, philosopher of technology and influential literary critic.

Ā  Ā We are very slow learners. We are continuing to destroy Mother Nature. We are involved in wars all over the globe. Each religious group believes it is the one and only one to teach the truth, and these groups persecute, kill and discriminate against all others. In the so-called civilized world, children are physically, sexually and/or emotionally abused; they are the leaders of our future.

When children are raised in such a hostile and violent environment, how can we hope for a harmonious future for all the people of this world? We are supposed to be the peacekeepers on this planet, but look at what we are doing on a daily basis!

In this light, the purpose of human life is to achieve our own spiritual evolution, to get rid of negativity, to establish harmony among our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual quadrants, to learn to live in harmony within the family, community, nation, the whole world and all living things, treating all of mankind as brothers and sisters-thus making it finally possible to have peace on earth. Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D. (1926-2004)Ā Swiss AmericanĀ psychiatrist, who pioneered near-death studies. Ā She was the author of the groundbreaking bookĀ On Death and DyingĀ (1969), where she first discussed her theory of theĀ five stages of grief.

In order to transform our world, we must first transform ourselves. The Disciple Paul stated, “If you want to be transformed, be not of the world.Ā  Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Ā Confucius said, “Do not fight evil. Strive consciously to create the good.”

Similarly, Jesus stated, “Resist not evil (with evil). Evil should be resisted only with its logically effective opposite: Good or Love.”Ā

SophoclesĀ (406BCE – 496BCE)Ā proclaimed, “One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life; that word is love.”

Ā In the epic 1926 film “Metropolis”, written and directed by Fritz Lang (1890-1976;Ā Austrian-American filmmaker, screenwriter, and occasional film producer and actor) heĀ writes, “Without the heart, there can be no understanding between the hands and the mind.”

ā€œThere are two aspects of individual harmony: the harmony between body and soul, and the harmony between individuals. All the tragedy in the world, in the individual and in the multitude, comes from lack of harmony. And harmony is the best given by producing harmony in one’s own life. ā€ Ā Hazrat Inayat Khan, 14th century.

“No one is without love, only some cannot see it.Ā  Love is the force that brings all living beings, into being,Ā  Being together, in love.” – Lyrics by Chris Spheeris from his album “Pathways to Surrender.ā€

Individual emotional and physical healing, as well as the eventual attainment of planetary peace, all begin from the same place, the love of self.Ā  Music that is inspired and composed with an intention to promote love and inner peace awakens the mind and opens the heart to actualize the wisdom of Jesus who stated, “Love thy neighbor asĀ thyself.”

“Music can minister to minds diseased, Pluck from the memory a rooted sorrow, Raze out the written troubles of the brain, And with its sweet oblivious antidote, Cleanse the full bosom of all perilous stuff which weighs upon the heart.”Ā – Shakespeare

Great composers like J.S. Bach wrote at the head of their compositions ā€œA.M.D.G.,ā€ the Latin initials for (AdĀ majĆ³remĀ DeiĀ glĆ³riam) meaning ā€œFor the Greater Glory of God.ā€Ā Ā Thus, when musicians create and perform from a devotional and self-realized state this intent, at the level of quantum physics, formats their music into a sacred energetic formula that expresses the enlightened perspective of love or what Pythagoras called the ‘Music of the Spheres.’ When this music is experienced by the listener, the Law of Sympathetic Vibration dictates that their mind will resonate correspondingly.

Therefore, the process of listening to spiritually-inspired music establishes the protocol whereby the mind stills and the body relaxes.Ā  In this state, the mind is moved into a present-time reality where the sacred vibration of harmony (OM, Aum, Amen, or Cosmic Vibration) is least distorted and the mind is quiet enough to both witness and remember the Song of the Self, or the mystical principle of theĀ Ā  ā€œI AM,ā€ the Divinity within.

Here, the mind is moved from passive hearing to a conscious listening of the ā€œWordā€ or ā€œPrimary Harmony.ā€Ā  In other words, the process of listening to sacred music empowers the mind to perceive and release illusions of fear, pain and suffering so that it experiences and remembers the reality of the love that it already is.Ā  Thus, atonement and the integration of Divine Will is made possible.

The bridge between music and this universal search for transcendent meaning may be best exemplified by a remarkable dialog found in the film ā€œCopying Beethoven.ā€Ā  Ed Harris plays Beethoven, and in a powerful scene he demands of the woman who scribes his music, to which he has prior been hurtfully dismissive, ā€œWhy do you want to be so near me?ā€ to which she tearfully admits ā€œbecause I hope that by being in your presence one day I might write great music like you.ā€

Her deep sincerity touches Beethovenā€™s heart and for the first time, he sits with her to share the deep intent and volition through which the music he writes comes through him.Ā  He says to her:

ā€œThe vibrations on the ear are the breath of God speaking to manā€™s soul.Ā  Music is the language of God.Ā  We musicians are as close to God as man can be.Ā  We hear his voice.Ā  We read his lips.Ā  We give birth to the children of God who sing his praise.Ā  That is what musicians are.Ā  And, if we are not that, then we are nothing!ā€Ā

Indeed, this conscious intent to invoke music as the spiritual conduit between humanity and the Divine may be the very reason why such great composers such as Beethoven, Bach, and Chopin would write at the top of their compositions ā€œA.M.D.G.,ā€ (AdĀ majĆ³remĀ DeiĀ glĆ³riam) the Latin initials meaning ā€œFor the Greater Glory of God.ā€

“Music should be healing, music should uplift the soul, music should inspire; then there is no better way of getting closer to God, of rising higher towards the spirit, of attaining spiritual perfection, than music, if only it is rightly understood.” – The great Sufi Hazrat Inayat Kahn (1882-1927), author of the book “The Mysticism of Sound and Music” proclaimed by many as the Bible of Music.

One person cannot give to another what he or she does not first have.Ā  Peace from emotional disorders and physical disease, peace between cultures and on our planet are inextricably linked to our ability to first find peace within ourselves. Ā Jesus said

ā€œEven the least among youĀ can do whatĀ I have doneĀ andĀ greater thingsā€ ~ John 14:12., if as he later states you find Ā  “The kingdom of heaven is within you.” (Luke 17:21). Ā Which, Jesus later states: Ā “Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children (attain a metaphorical state of spiritual innocence), ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 18:3). Ā Only in this state of innocence or what the Buddhist call egoless or as Christians might refer to this as surrendered in God’s Will, can you as it says in Psalm’s 46:10 ”Ā

ā€œBe still, and know that I AM God”. Ā Only when we know that I AM God can we cognize “and God said (spoke the “Word” which means the primary creative harmony) let there be light.”(Genesis 1:3). Ā Then we will know as it says in John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, Ā full of grace and truth.” Ā Hence, we now are able to understand and witness what Einstein said in his famous equation E=MC2 that “Energy and Mass are different forms of the same thing.”Ā

“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself, if you want to eliminate the suffering of the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Ā Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” – Lao Tzu (4th Century BC)

Ā “The healing of ourselves is the healing of the whole nation.”Ā Buddhist poet Thich Nhat Hanh

Ā

ā€œThe solution to the problem of the day is the awakening of the consciousness of humanity to the divinity within.ā€Ā Hazrat Inayat Khan, 14th century.

INTENT AND CO-CREATIVITY

The purer the intent of our heart, mind, soul, and actions to reflect and mirror our true self, the I AM,Ā  the greater, more directly, and clearly our DNA antenna receives and computes the Divine’s message of our life purpose and how to achieve it on this plane of reality.Ā Ā  The greater our conscious intent to awarely choose from the integrity of our soul’s life mission the greater our ability to witness miracles.

ā€œAs a MAN (ā€œmanā€ is a Sanskrit word meaning ā€œConsciousnessā€) thinketh in his heart, so is heā€. King Solomon, The Bible

MIRACLES

Miracles are a naturally occurring state as they define how the Universe is ordained to work.Ā  Ā  Our ability to see and/or witness miracles relates to and is a function of what the Course In Miracles refers to the ability to shift awareness from “perception” (seeing through the eyes of the ego-mind, the illusion of fear, lack, and reaction) into a state of having “Vision” which entails seeing through the eyes of the Christ Consciousness as defined through love, peace, compassion, and forgiveness.

Miracles collapse the gaps of time and space as defined by attachments to fear, drama, and their related obstacles and a newly envisioned outcome as called forth through a prayer that brings in to form a more loving reality.Ā  Therefore, the more we use our inner discernment to align our consciousness with the loving inner truth of our I AM, the more the attached and illusionary veils fall away so that we can witness the miracle that is already there.

On the contrary, the more fearfully unconscious and distracted we choose to BE through allowing unloving thoughts to blind inner awareness and outer actions then the more drama we co-create in terms of people, situations, and circumstances.Ā  Ā  In truth, unconscious thoughts and drama serve to bend our DNA antenna out of alignment with its direct, clear and true transmission of the Divineā€™s loving life mission lessons.Ā Ā In other words, in fearful and distracted states of awareness, we will only receive statically scrambled transmissions that result in mental errors, mistakes and/or actions that could also be termed “sin.”Ā  Respectively, keep in mind that the word ā€œSinā€ is simply an ancient archery term that means ā€œto miss the markā€ or miss the bulls-eye, or if you will, to BE and act out of tune or sync with the Divine’s transmission.

ā€œThe ancestor of every action is thoughtā€ ā€“ Emerson

THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THE SOULĀ

At present, science describes our human anatomy as first developing from a single cell, which then divides into the complicated matrix of the body vessel we currently occupy.Ā Ā This methodically orchestrated process of creation is hardly magic though most seem to hold it as so.Ā Ā On a physiological level andĀ from birth, our consciousness is hard-wired to hear and to listen.Ā Ā Among the first bones to develop in the humanĀ fetusĀ is the ear bone. Respectively, hearing is the first sense to develop in theĀ fetus and it is also the last sense to go.Ā Ā

The cochlea, part of the inner ear, looks like the shell of a snail.Ā  In it, there are some 60,000 hair pod cells, each of which resonates like a microscopic tuning fork, to a specific frequency or sound.Ā  As one of these specific hair cells resonates, a corresponding neurological impulse is sent to the brain, causing the release of neuropeptides, or what is called ā€œcommunicator molecules.ā€Ā  Music is the only art form where both the right and left hemispheres of the brain work simultaneously.Ā  MIT has shown through PET scans that the penial gland, or what mystics refer to as the “third-eye, is the area of the brain the processes music.

My suggested hypothesis is, from a spiritual and physiological perspective, that the cosmological blueprint of consciousness and our body is brought into form as a primary function of the Music of the Spheres, OM, Amen, Christ, Buddha, Muhammad, or Krishna Consciousness being transmitting through our body’s DNA.Ā  Our body’s DNA crystal radio receiver is a hybrid continuum and corollary of our collective soul awareness, that of our parent’s consciousness and the gene pool of all of our descendants and their experiences.

Respectively, I suggest that our DNA is the physical expression of our soulā€™sĀ AkashicĀ records in this particular time and space coordinate.Ā  It is the blueprint by which the physiology of our body is formulated and all of our respective mental, athletic and creative talents are given foundation.Ā  Ultimately, the process of taking human form serves the purpose of bringing our consciousness back online so that the present life mission work can bring us ever closer to atonement, or, our realized enlightenment.

ARE YOU CHOOSING TO TUNE IN AND PAYING ATTENTION OR SLEEPWALK?

In other words, imagine if you will that at the moment of conception your DNA antenna gets turned on.Ā  Ā  Now and at this time, the Divine’s perpetual and continuous transmission love begins to port through our activated DNA.Ā  This signal transmission now begins to naturally fragment into the respective bandwidths of consciousness that reflect the residues of thought-form and beliefs that we remain attached to and that spiritually separate us from the realized Divinity of the I AM that we already are.Ā Ā Now online, this spiritual baseline serves to empower how we can receive, transmit, interact with, and navigate the overall matrix of the Music of the Spheres.

Visualize this process if you will, by imagining your DNA as a physical crystal prism that has a white light (enlightenment) running through it.Ā  Ā From the point of entry into our DNA and out from the opposite side of this prism the white light (or again, as we metaphorically reference this as ā€œDivine Truthā€) now becomes fractured into each of the respective color attributes of this light; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.Ā  Note that each of these colors also varies within the scope and reach of their bandwidth.

Let’s say each of these color elements metaphorically define aspects of our soul awareness. As an aggregate, they reflect fearfully fragmented, attached and unhealed aspects of our consciousness that we have returned to earth to work on.Ā Ā Ā See the rainbow spectrum of colors and each subtle point of separation as one of the veils of illusion (or what the Hinduā€™s call ā€œMayaā€) that now separates us from the Divinity of the I AM we already are.Ā Ā Similarly, these same color aspects of separation can be seen, from Buddha’s perspective, as demarcations that define our soul’s fearful attachments that cause our suffering.

MAYA, THE VEILS OF ILLUSION

So imagine if you will, that with each step of our consciously chosen journey back to our true soul self (the I AM) we serve to transform, transmute and collapse the fractured veils of our illusions into an integrated singular beam of light.Ā  In this state of awareness, the light of our soul’s DNA now reflects an integrated singularity of consciousness that mirrors our atonement or enlightenment.

ā€œAll that we are is a result of what we have thoughtā€ ā€“ Buddha

Respectively and simply put, I suggest that the purpose to our life’s journey here on planet earth is to discover the veils of illusion that we have fearfully attached us to and separateĀ us from the truth of our I Am and then consciously and courageously collapse them so that we can return to the light and become fully integrated as Holy vessels.Ā  Ā As we consciously choose more lovingly empowered thoughts our attachments dissolve and the veils of separation fall away so that we witness the miracle that we are.Ā  In this state of being fully healed and loving we transcend any and all fearful limitations.Ā  In this state, we can better understand our role and take action on our unique life mission of contributing to ever greater love, peace, and joy in our world.

Certain spiritual texts remind us that the Divine, Music of the Spheres, or the Kingdom of Heaven, is within each of us. They remind us that we may not enter this Kingdom of Heaven until we become as a child, a metaphorical reference to a consciousness of innocence. In such innocence, we are able to find stillness from which we can know the creative power of our God-self within.

THE RECORD OF OUR SOUL

Towards this ultimate state of enlightened awareness, here is another way to imagine this, if you will: Your soulā€™s record is literally imprinted onto an old vinyl record. From birth, the needle of our awareness is dropped (gently or otherwise) on the outer edge of the soul’s record of this particular time and space reality. The needle both plays and records each note of our lifeā€™s symphony. Like all records of this type, the needle tracks from the larger/outer radius of our heart song toward the inevitably smaller/center of our radical enlightenment.Ā  It is interesting to note that the word “radical” actually means “closest to the center”.

Through love and gratitude, we become aware of the rhythmic flow of our soulā€™s grand melody. Through fear and judgment, we find the needle sinks into a groove of disharmony, unpleasantness, and discordant notes that painfully repeat over and over again. In Sanskrit, such grooves in consciousness are called ā€œSamskarasā€.

Stuck in these self-created grooves, the needle of our awareness digs ever painfully and deeper into the record of our subconscious. The ego-mind ensures that we become attached to disharmony, begin to suffer and adjust to the discordant notes as being normal. Attached in this unconsciousness and suffering, our heart ever longs for the true melody of our soulā€™s joy.

THE EMPOWERED CHOICE OF BEING AT CAUSE vs BEING THE VICTIM AT FAULT

This crossroads of unconsciousness and joyful longing marks the awakening of our intent to rejoin the symphony of our life song, our life purpose. Mindful of the disharmony of fear and lesson of greater love, we can choose to drop the awareness pebble of the Hoā€™oponopono into the groove to interrupt the monotony of discordance and pain.

The Hoā€™oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian process of reconciliation and forgiveness. At its mystical core are the elements of mental cleansing, putting things right and rectifying errors. Attending this awareness activation is the recognition that we are always 100% at cause and responsible for any problem. Similarly, it is defined that we are also 100% capable of rectifying any and all errors. Four short phrases activate the process of this healing process and release us from the groove of suffering: ā€œIā€™m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.ā€ Through the melody of these words, we can transmute and transcend the error of attached and fearful thoughts and choose instead to co-create an inspired new heart song.

Now, as the needle begins to track back through the old groove of unpleasantness the pebble now serves to bump the needle back onto the record surface.Ā  From here, a new and ever more gorgeous melody begins to play. Our heart feels lifted and we are inspired by a song of new possibilities.

Frail in this new moment, the needle runs ever close to the edge of our old groove or patterns and the ear is tempted by the discord we were once trained to find familiar. If our resolve is weak, the needle is pulled back into the groove and with this, the depth and darkness of our experiences will grow in strength. If our courage is strong the needle will continue towards our radical center and float on angelic notes that proclaim the symphony of our harmonic enlightenment.

CO-CREATING EMPOWERING REALITIES

Each moment of the day, nanosecond after nanosecond, we are co-creating a reality from which we are either conscious or unconscious. To the degree we are conscious, lovingly paying attention to the moment, our co-creativity tends to reflect a flow of ease and grace in our experiences. To the degree we are unconscious, we reactively and retrospectively discover the fearful hand that has scripted the dramatic sequences of our existence.

Curiously, we wonder how it is that certain people, places, and circumstances show up in our lives. Some of these experiences show up and bring peace, joy, and prosperity into our lives. Other experiences seem to bring sadness, anger, and poverty.Ā  Ā For the most part, these experiences appear as a random series of events that seem to suggest we have either little or no control over things.Ā  As a result, we choose to feel either lucky or like a victim.Ā  The greater truth of the matter is that we are always co-creating whether we are conscious of it or not.

YOUR INNER ALLADIN’S LAMP

Each of us has the ability to call matter; people, situations, things, and circumstances into form.Ā  In the story of Alladin’s lamp, an impoverished young man is tricked by a sorcerer to retrieve a magical lamp from behind a mystically hidden cave door.Ā  The lamp has the legendary ability to grant its owner any wish they have.Ā  In order to open the cave door and get to the lamp, Alladin is to say the words “OpenĀ Sesame“.Ā  Ā The larger metaphor of this story is that the possession of a magic lamp (one’s inner power) enables its owner to create anything they desire.Ā  I also encourage youĀ to slowly sayĀ OpenĀ Sesame to your self until it reveals the words …”Open Says Me”!Ā

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” –Ā Matthew 7:7Ā

You see our thoughts and spoken words are constantly opening new possibilities, co-creating and calling matter into form.Ā  The reason for this is our thoughts and spoken words are really prayers, spells, incantations, and/or mantras.Ā  Ā Like the knob on a radio or an old TV set, our thoughts and words reflect and serve as the tuning device of our consciousness and our soul’s ability to connect most directly with the Divine’s signal of love.Ā  Lovingly conscious thoughts keep us clearly tuned into guiding messages of inspiration and empowerment.Ā  The Quakers refer to such messages as “the small still voice within”.Ā  Unconsciously unloving thoughts scramble our ability to receiveĀ the Divine’s wise signal and thus creates states of mental confusion,Ā fear,Ā and drama.

ā€œIn the beginning was the WORD,ā€ (the word the ā€œWORDā€ translates into ā€œPrimary Harmony,ā€ according to John the Evangelist of the first century A.D.) ā€œand the word was with God,ā€ says John 1:1. ā€œThen God SAID, Let there be light,ā€ says Genesis 1:3.

YOUR THOUGHTS AND WORDS AS PRAYERS, MANTRAS, and COMMANDS

Specifically, the ultimate point to bring awareness to is that every word is made of letters and every letter has its own specific phonetic sound based on whether it is a consonant or a vowel. Therefore, when we combine various letters into words and speak these words, it is analogous to striking several keys on a piano, as an example,Ā  to create combinations of notes that form a musical chord.Ā  Ā In essence,Ā  our thoughts create certain frequencies of causation and when these same thoughts are spoken this serves to amplify and/or accelerate matter (people, situations, and circumstances) into coming to form.

Certain words,Ā  based on theirĀ etymology (the word’s originally intended and/or created root origin) andĀ by their very definition, have high intention vibrations while others are lower. As we bring deeper awareness into our lives, consciousness tends to transition from a passive state of hearing into an active, and participatory level of listening and paying attention. As a result, we become more sensitive to how things feel, such as our own thoughts or those of other people.Ā  Ā We begin to pay attention to the words we select to communicate, how they impact how we and other people feel, and we listen to how the communication of other people affects our emotions, psyche, and thought process.

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” –Ā Matthew 21:22Ā

Respectively, it’s relatively easy to feel an attraction, uplifted and trusting of someone who is thinking and speaking with lovingly kind and empowering words.Ā  Similarly, it is easy to notice a repulsion, negativity, and distrust from someone who is both thinking and speaking in a negative, demeaning, judgemental way or using vulgar curse words.Ā  Simply put, high-frequency words attract, inspire and empower and low-frequency words repel, depress, and disempower.Ā  Ā High-frequency words of caring and loving-kindness encourage closeness, attract and promote growth in relationships.Ā  Low-frequency words do the exact and corollary opposite.

Again, Buddha reminds us, ā€œAll that we are is a result of what we have thoughtā€.Ā  King Solomon said “As a MAN (“man” means “consciousness” in Sanskrit) thinketh in his heart, so is he.”Ā  Emerson wisely stated,Ā ā€œThe ancestor of every action is thoughtā€.

CONSCIOUSLY THINKING AND SPEAKING WHAT YOU WANT TO CREATE

With this new awareness, we suddenly find it paradoxically curious when a friend responds to an invitation to participate in something we thought they would value, by saying ā€œNO, I would love to do that,ā€ or ā€œNO, thatā€™s a great ideaā€ or “NO, I agree with you.”Ā  Similarly, we begin to feel a drain around a reactively proclaimed goal of ā€œI NEED to create more money,ā€ or ā€œI SHOULDĀ have a better job or career,ā€ or ā€œI HAVE TO,ā€ or I MUST do… (whatever the subject might be).ā€ Occasionally, we feel a sense of joyful empowerment around someone excitingly proclaiming ā€œIĀ willĀ create more money,ā€ or ā€œIĀ chooseĀ to create a better job or career,ā€ or ā€œIĀ wantĀ to,ā€ or ā€œIĀ desireĀ to… (whatever the subject might be).ā€

To further clarify let me explain the litmus test of Divine Congruency.Ā  Ā When some replies to one of your given statements, a question or an invitation by saying “NO, I agree with you” or “NO, I would love to go to the movies or dinner with you”, ask yourself are these responses closer to being congruent or incongruent.Ā  The answer, when examined objectively, is obviously, incongruent.Ā  Ā In the ultimate litmus test of discernment, the ego-mind can only respond incongruently, from a time-space perspective of the past or future and/or with thoughts, motivation and/or words of fear, lack, and reaction.

So as a result and example let us examine the following:Ā  You and a close friend meet and later agree to go see a movie that night.Ā  During the conversation your friend suggests calling another friend, Jim, to invite him to join you both.Ā  Your friend is extremely busy so they ask if you would be willing to call Jim to extend the invitation.Ā  You agree and later call him to ask if he will join you both to see this movie, at this theater and at this time.Ā  Jim replies, “NO, I would love to do that.”Ā  You hang up the phone and go about your day.Ā  Later in the evening you and your friend arrive at the theater and wait for Jim to show up.

THE EGO’S JOB IS TO SABOTAGE THE LOVING EVOLUTION OF THE SELFĀ

After a long wait and just minutes before the film is about to start it is obviousĀ Jim won’t make it.Ā  Ā Next, your friend turns and asks,Ā  “When you called Jim and what did he say”? You reply, “Yes, I called Jim and he said he would love to join us.”Ā  Again and in reality of the conversation you actually had with Jim he actually responded, “NO, I would love to do that.”Ā  In this example, Jim communicated a mixed or incongruent and/or self-sabotaging message.Ā  Ā Now, imagine a similar scenario, however, in this version when Jim is asked if he would like to join you both at the movies he instead says, “YES, I would love to do that.”Ā  In the ultimate end results of this ask and differing response, you can almost take it to the bank that Jim will, in fact, show up and attend the movie.

Now, similarly, ask yourself if someone replies to one of these same statements, a question or invitations with “NO, I don’t agree with you” or YES, I agree with you” or NO, I would love to but can not this time” or “YES, I would love to go to movies or dinner with you”, are these responses closer to congruent or incongruent.Ā Ā The answer is obviously, congruent.Ā Ā The true self, God-self or I AM only responds congruently and motivates only through thoughts and/or words of love, peace, forgiveness, and compassion, and from the empowered time-space perspective of the present moment.

Additionally, consider the following discerning and differentiating reality of paying close attention to the words we or others think and/or speak.Ā  As an example, let us consider the frequently used word of ā€œneed.ā€ When you think of the word ā€œneed,ā€ does it feel closer to the definition of abundance or lack? If like most, you conclude that it feels closer to lack, then let us ask next: If the word ā€œneedā€ is closer to a definition of lack, does this word “lack” feel closer to the definition of love or fear? If you conclude fear, as do most, then next ask does the word ā€œfearā€ feel closer to a definition of responding or reacting? Again, if you are like most, you will conclude that the word ā€œfearā€ feels closer to a reaction.

This process of logical deduction and the granulation of wordsā€™ core definitions ultimately empower the understanding that anytime we or someone thinks and then speaks the word ā€œneedā€ (or other similar words like: “should”, “have to”, or “must”) within the context of an intended and core creative command, then it is known that the only future possibility that can be co-created and/or called into form is a reality of fear, lack, reaction or a bottom-line reality of drama. This paradox can become frustrating apparent in the face of someone we know who continually asks for or commands for a more positive and future reality through using the words patterns of fear, lack, and reaction.Ā  In doing so and in essence, this same person will frequently proclaim themselves and failures as falling victim to various and unrelated circumstances.Ā  To them, the carrot of their most desired outcome always seems perpetually out of reach even though they pray for and proclaim (through thoughts, words, and actions of fear, lack, and reaction) for new loving and prosperous realities more loudly and forcefully.

Simply put, words that define fear, lack, and reaction can only create similar and corollary outcomes.Ā  In other words, from basic physics, we know that like energies attract like.Ā  The reality is that the ego-mind (our fearfully chosen states of consciousness) can only use the vernacular of words that are based on fear, lack, and reaction and a time and space perspective of the past or future.Ā  The ego-mind is always and perpetually limited to fearful words, emotions, manipulative motivations and/or phrases.Ā  Under no circumstances, whatsoever, can it ever use the loving, empowering and present time tense of the words of the Divine.

The reason for this is because the Divine or Music of the Sphere’s transmission continually offers our consciousness the means to delineate and differentiate false guidance from that of the loving guidance of the truth.Ā  Simply put, the Divine and God-Self guidance only operates and motivates from the present moment of complete empowerment and uses only words of love, inspiration, and compassion.Ā  Ā  Similarly, the ego-mind or fearful self only motivates from a past or future time frame and can only ever use motivating thoughts or words of fear, lack, and reaction.Ā  Think of the logic behind this.Ā  If the ego mind ever had access to the words of the Divine, we would be in a state of total and perpetual confusion about how to differentiate information that is lovingly intended (from our God-self or I AM) to serve our spiritual growth versus information, from the ego-mind, that was intended to harm us, keep us in suffering and/or sabotage the self’s spiritual growth and our positively intended dreams.

THE HEROES JOURNEY OF CO-CREATING FROM WHAT YOU DO WHAT TO CREATE

Now for a moment, let us consider four new command words such as IĀ will, IĀ choose, IĀ want, or IĀ desire (or, you could even use the word “that’s required”). When you think of using these words to call forth a future possibility, ask yourself,Ā  do they feel closer to a state of abundance or lack? If you feel them closer to abundance next ask does the word abundance feel closer to a definition of love or fear? If you conclude that it feels closer to love, then ask does the word love feel closer to a definition of responding or reacting?Ā  The obvious answer is responding.Ā  Therefore by choosing command words that reflect the authority of self-realized empowerment (I AM) and an intent to co-create from a state of abundance, love,Ā and response from our present state awareness, then we will create the same.Ā  Again, like energies attract.

Choosing command words that proclaim self-empowerment and authentic choices ultimately reflect the wise intent of co-creating from the end goal of what one DOES WANT to create. Ultimately, this clear volition is likened to the hero’s journey as described by Joseph Campbell.Ā  In this archetypal story, the hero decides to leave the village of conformity in pursuit of their dream (slay the dragon, retrieve the holy grail, or otherwise).Ā  Along with this journey, their faith and the courage of their conviction will be tested over and over again.Ā  Finally, nearing the end of their journey, they are presented with one final and grand test, “the bridge of no return”.

Only true heroes are deemed with the inner strength and courage to pass this test and cross this bridge.Ā  These brave hearts who do make it to the bridge’s other side are inwardly and ritually then instructed to turn back to the bridge and to burn it to the ground.Ā  In so doing, the hero removes any and all temptations from ever retreating back from their goal.Ā  The only option they completely commit and resolve is to fulfill the goal they originally set out to achieve.Ā  In other words, success is their only option.

WE ARE ALWAYS CO-CREATING AND AT CAUSE

In contradiction to the actions of a true hero, the process of unconsciously choosing from command words which are based on fear, lack and reaction reflects the awareness of someone who is choosing to co-create from what they DON’T WANT to create.Ā  The example of an unawakened and unrealized hero reflects a person who has failed to ever ask the larger question about what their life mission might be.Ā  For the moment and in this sleepwalking state they choose to live a complacent life and desire, as a result, little more than feeding their most basic and immediate of personal and egotistical desires.Ā  Ā This state of unrealized potential precludes this person, or anyone, from dreaming unrealized possibilities and/or ever taking the first step(s) towards their inevitable hero’s journey.

Respectively, humanity appears to be at a pivotal time where we can choose to transition consciousness from the ā€œPersonaā€, which in Latin means to ā€œpump air through oneā€™s maskā€ (the mask of the ego-mind) into a more enlightened state of becoming the ā€œhereticā€, which in Latin means ā€œthe person who knows that they can chooseā€.Ā  When we choose to listen carefully to our truest inner self, our I AM or God-Self and also speak from the present moment of our most empowered envisioned goal then we will call new possibilities into form and witness the reality of our heartā€™s greatest dreams come true.

WE ARE POWERFUL BEYOND IMAGINATION

Remember, the Jesus figure said in Psalms 82:6 “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most-High”.Ā  He would later go on to say ā€œEven the least among you can do what I have done and greater thingsā€ ~ John 14:12. Ā  How else can one rationally interpret this quote other thanĀ  ā€œI did it (enlightenment), you can do it and even go further than I.ā€Ā  Later Jesus infers that this is possible if you first find: ā€œThe kingdom of heaven is within you.ā€~Luke 17:21.Ā  Jesus later states this is attainable by: ā€œVerily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children (attain a metaphorical state of spiritual innocence), ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.ā€~Matthew 18:3

Then, and only through this state of aligned child-like innocence (or what the Buddhist call ā€œegolessā€ or what Christians might term a state of ā€œsurrenderā€ or ā€œatonementā€) with Godā€™s Will, can we be awakened to integrate into the state of being as referred to in Psalms 46:10: ā€œBE still, and know that I AM Godā€.

Only then and from this cognized state of awareness can we know and BEĀ  ā€œAnd God SAID (spoke the ā€œWordā€ which means ā€œthe primary creative harmonyā€) let there be light.ā€ (Genesis 1:3). From this more awakened state, we will know as it says in John 1:14 ā€œAnd the WordĀ (again the “Word” translates into “Primary Harmony”) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.ā€ Hence, we can understand and witness what Einstein said in his famous equation of E=MC2 that ā€œEnergy and Mass are different forms of the same thing.ā€

ASK BIG QUESTIONS, SHOOT FOR THE STARS AND LAND ON THE MOON

Interestingly, when Einstein would come home from school his mother apparently never asked him if he made good grades, instead, she said, “Did you ask good questions?”

To further realize your most empowered possibilities I encourage you ask of your innermost BEING to understand and realize the most wise words of PataƱjali, the compiler of the Yoga Sutras (Sanskrit: 150 BCE): ā€œWhen you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, andĀ talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.ā€

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”Ā John 15:7Ā

In conclusion, I believe the biggest issue we as individuals and humanity face is one that the Jesus figure brought to light in his profound quote, “Love thy neighbor, as thy self”.Ā  And, this quote literally misunderstood and acted on from our current and collective state of consciousness and perspective,Ā  I believe, is at the root cause all of ourĀ planet’s great horrors to date…Ā  And, this is because weĀ are literally loving our neighbors exactly how we love ourselvesā€¦and that is ā€˜we love ourselves horriblyā€™.Ā Ā

In truth, it is a shortĀ distance to our own heart and yet I can be a very long journey to get there. The process of healing the self and humanity will resultĀ from each of us being more fully authentic and reverently loving of the self and/or establishing, in modern terms, a healthy sense of self-esteem.Ā  This as proposed, and for those less informed and poised toĀ react, is the exact opposite of the definition of narcissism.

Ā ā€œThe healing of ourselves is the healing of the whole nation.ā€Ā ā€“Ā Buddhist poet Thich Nhat Han

You see, one person cannot give to another what he or she does not first have for themselves. Ā If you have not first found inner peace, love, kindness, compassion, and care for yourself then the only thing you are capable of sharing, projecting, offering and acting on, in regards to other people, animals, and mother earth, is the opposite of this.Ā  The truth be told, if you have anything less than a state of loving reverence for yourself then you will only project this on to “The Others” and act from your inner state of suffering as expressed through the attributes of self-hatred, distrust, agitation/impatience, cruelty, intolerance, and indifference.

I believe that all of humanity is lovingly connected and part of God’s unified family.Ā  As such, I pray that each of you when you look into the mirror each day, always remember and reflect on the reality that your life and those of your fellow brothers and sisters is the expression of God’s living miracle here on planet earth…that your purpose and that of all humanity is to further the teachings of loving-kindness, compassion, forgiveness, serve in the reverent stewardship of all nature so that we collectively bring manifest a true and lasting peace on earth.Ā  This is the true miracle you and we are here to bring forth.Ā  This is the new co-created possibility that you and we are destined to manifest.

ā€œThe solution to the problem of the day is the awakening of the consciousness of humanity to the divinity within.ā€Ā Hazrat Inayat Khan, 14th century.

Ā

As such,Ā  please allow Lesson 186 of A Course in Miracles to remind you every waking moment of each day:Ā  “The Salvation of the world depends on me.”

LIVING IN CLARITY:

Our minds are abuzz with thousands of thoughts each day, all of which compete for our attention and a corollary action. The Buddhists call this untrained mind of buzzing thoughts “the Monkey Mind.”

The Monkey Mind, the ego-mind, constantly flickers between conscious thoughts of love and unconscious thoughts of fear. This non-focused flickering is an intentional tool of the ego used to perpetuate confusion, attachments to duality and a resulting state of suffering. The ego’s life depends on the consciousness of confusion, for with stillness and peace comes enlightenment and a related death to the fearful attachments of our ego-mind. Here, in this present time and peace, only love exists.

“All that we are is a result of what we have thought.” – Buddha

Curiously, the metaphor of the Monkey Mind and how it traps consciousness in illusion and suffering holds great similarity to how monkeys are actually trapped in the jungle. In this process, a hole is drilled at the bottom of a tree where monkeys are known to gather above. The hole, drilled to be just large enough for a monkey to stick its hand in, is filled with nuts that they love to eat.

At the back of the hole is a cavernous pocket, just large enough for the monkey to wrap its hand around the nuts. Smelling the nuts from the branches above, the monkey scampers down the tree to discover the origin of the enticing aroma. The monkey, desperately excited, has to have these nuts and so quickly plunges its hand into the hole.

Feeling the nuts at the back of the hole, it grabs them. Now even more excited, the Monkey attempts to pull its hand outĀ of the hole. Desperately though, as hard as the monkey pulls, its hand will not come back through this hole. Its balled fist, which is now wrapped around the nuts, is too large to make it through.

Try as it may, the monkey cannot pull its hand out of the hole and at the same time, it will not let loose of the nuts. The monkey has trapped itself. All that is required to be free is to let go of the nuts.

With the monkey’s hand now stuck in the hole, the trapper simply walks up to the monkey and slips a rope around its neck. Sensing the peril of the situation, the monkey releases the nuts and its hand pulls back through the hole. Free of the hole, the monkey is, however, now the slave of its captor.

“It is your attachments that cause your suffering.” – Buddha

Like the monkey who has trapped itself, the untrained mind is tempted by the allure of fearful and dramatic thoughts. The ego-mind, sustained by the consumption of such thoughts, enslaves our consciousness and our actions that soon there will follow. The result of this entrapment is attachment, unconscious sleepwalking from which our actions bring suffering and we experience separation from the present moment, paying attention and most importantly,Ā  love. We could free ourselves and find peace, however, the unconscious mind is greatly attracted to the entertainment of our buzzing thoughts and those offered to us by the ego’s material plane of reality.

“The ancestor of every action is thought.” – Emerson

The Native Americans remind us of how to release ourselves and be free from such suffering. They say, “You have picked up the hot rocks of pain and suffering (fearful and dramatic thoughts), all that is required is that you turn your hand over and let them go.”

Similarly,Ā  the Hawaiian Mystics known as the Kahunas, teach humanity through their process of the Ho’oponopono, the great importance of BEING ever Mindful of co-creating thoughts which loving guide us toward enlightened awareness and experiences verse co-creating thoughts which are comprised of disharmony, drama, and fear which also co-create our realities.

Ultimately, the Hoā€™oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian process of reconciliation and forgiveness. At its mystical core are the elements of mental cleansing, putting things right and rectifying errors. With their wise and attentively empowering affirmation, consciousness is brought into the present moment so that there is a cognitive recognition that we are always, 100% of the time, at cause and effect and responsible for any miracle and/or problem that occurs in our life.

Four short phrases activate the process of the Hoā€™oponoponoĀ healing process so that the monkey mind releases from the trap of suffering: ā€œIā€™m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.ā€ Through the melody of words, consciousness is empowered to transmute and transcend the error of our thoughts, transition from perception into VISION and thus co-create the miraculous reality of our heart’s truest and most loving song of desire.

Let go of the hot rocks, brave spiritual warrior, and be free of all pain and suffering. Be still, find peace within and know that you are God, co-creating with each thought everything you imagine and see around you. Choose mindfully, that your thoughts are always loving, and see with great clarity and power, how you create a world of great and everlasting peace.

Suggested Exercises:

For the next two days become very present to where your mind is focusing its attention. Look for patterns, especially around subject matters that you find draining and that your perception attaches too. Write each of these items of your attention down and then immediately do the Hoā€™oponopono four (4) times on each subject matter.Ā This will empower you to release and dissolve the hot rock of pain and suffering.Ā  Next, write positive affirmations of the loving and empowering reality of WHAT YOU DO WANT TO CREATE.

EXCALIBUR, THE POWER OF YOUR OWN INNER TRUTHĀ

In almost all legendary stories of kings, knights and that of Joan of Arc, the sword plays the role of a great tool in the defense of truth and the conquering of enemies. It is interesting to note that the word “enemy” means “not a friend.” In certain stories, like that of King Arthur, his famed sword Excalibur was known for its special powers. The word “Excalibur” means to “cut steel.”

All swords are formed in the process called casting. This process consists of taking ore, rocks that contain the raw minerals of metal, then placing them in a forge to be heated so that the minerals liquefy and become separated from the rock. Once the metal minerals are liquefied, they can then be poured into a mold. A mold, is a hollow cavity, a vessel that is shaped to hold the design of an expressed creative intent — in this case, the shape of a sword.

Once the liquid metal is poured into the mold, it is allowed to cool and solidify. Only then is the casting process complete and can the newly birthed sword be released from its mold. Upon release and inspection, the sword’s edges are rough.

From a metaphysical and metaphorical perspective, the process of casting, relative to our spiritual evolution, can be likened to our soul being poured into the mold of our present-time body, which is itself cast to play a specific role and intentioned life purpose. With this incarnation of soul development, the raw minerals of ore rocks can be understood as the fearfully attached thoughts from which we begin this life mission. The forge, from this same perception, can be seen as the dramatic arena from which our life experiences test our resolve to release. The process of heating can likewise be understood as the alchemy of transformation. Finally, we know that the liquefied state of metal reflects the freedom, moldability and creative potential of our now-unattached and loving thoughts.

Similarly, from birth, our soul seems the result of a cosmic casting that seeks to mold our innermost self into that of a divine plan and purpose. Consciousness, in this chrysalis molten-like state, appears to flicker between a duality of love and fear that purposely points toward a greater truth. Like a new sword, the edges of our perception are dull and cannot cut through duality.

As we strive toward understanding our greater calling, we fashion ourselves into the master sword-maker of our life. With skill, we learn to sharpen in the measure for balance, purpose, and precision of thought. Through mindful self-awareness, we learn to harness the contrast of duality, that of right/wrong or good/bad and so on, in order to focus the edges of our perception toward wisdom. With such mastery, perceptions eventually shift to a point of singularity and vision. In this state, the limitations and boundaries of perceived duality cease to exist. Here do we know and finally understand the truth to which life has pointed us, that there is only love.

Mindful awareness of this flickering journey to conquer duality will take the courage of a great knight, for only the brave of heart and wise of spirit will have the discipline to stay the course of truth. Only the pure of heart will have the courage to follow the call of the divine and lead the charge of transformation. Only the bravest of knights will have the courage to wield Excalibur’s great power to cut through the steel of the self’s most attached armor and slay the enemy self, our fearful thoughts. Only the bravest of knights will be transformed into kings and triumphantly stand in the kingdom of their own enlightenment.

Forge on, brave knights, toward your great kingdom of heaven within. May the sword of truth ever free your heart, liberate your soul and bring victory in your service towards love and peace on earth.

Suggested Exercises

For the next two days observe and take note of any and all things that appear to be unloving in your life. Look for the benefit that this negative and unloving situation brings to you. Be aware that the ego will immediately react to such a crazy notion of finding benefit in such negativity, one that you, as it well knows, have created and become attached to. The ego is hyper-aware that if you ask this question with courageous intent, that you will discover and be empowered to uproot the cause of your fear and suffering. This is the last thing that it wants to occur, for this means that healing and love will bring awareness to consciousness, and death to the egoā€™s power over you.

Ask with courage what the benefit of such suffering is in your life. The deepness of it may surprise you. As you get to the core of this, commit to uprooting this fearful and illusionary state completely and to bringing love and Divine truth to it. This process is like sharpening the edges of a sword to its tip, there you will only find love and that duality is illusionary.

During this process of discovery and the sharpening of your awareness towards love, write down your observations around the subjects you are bringing healing and clarity to, immediately do the Hoā€™oponopono four (4) times on each subject matter.

Thank you. I love you.ā€ Through the melody of these words, we transmute and transcend the error of our thoughts and now co-create an inspired new heart song.

Proclaim, through self-created affirmations, what you are really committed too and want.

YOUR LEAPS OF FAITH

Each step of our lifeā€™s journey, whether we are aware of it or not, is a series of leaps of faith. Certain moments of our life, seemingly dramatic in nature, serve to punctuate and mark major turning points that define who we believe we are, what we have accomplished, relationships of meaning and opportunities that lead to a particular experience.

We are always guided. Some pay close attention to the clues that help us to discern which paths we take, that most serve our highest learning and greatest good. Others give occasion to such awareness, and as a result, happiness and lifeā€™s successes seem hit or miss and/or like a game of chance. Still, others appear to live in a state of sleepwalking, their lives are filled with dramatic experiences, a rollercoaster of great emotional pain and suffering.

AlongĀ the path of our life journey, with each step we take, we present ourselves with clues that point the way towards our ultimate goal of learning, BEING and re-remembering the love we already are.

In the book ā€œIslandā€ by Aldous Huxley, the story revolves around a group of enlightened people who once lived on the mainland and now had collectively chosen to live on an island where they believed would be less worldly distractions. Their collective desire is to remain in an enlightened state of consciousness. The island, isolated as it is from the rest of humanity, turns out to offer its own set of distractions.Ā  Ever conscious of their commitment toward enlightenment, the Islanders decide to meet and create a strategy to keep them collectively focused and empowered towards their goal. Deciding that they collectively required reminders to remain in their enlightened state they noted that their island is filled with thousands upon thousands of parrots. Brilliantly, they decided to teach the parrots two words which they know the birds will repeat twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The two words, PAY ATTENTION.

Our awareness and paying attention to our feelings and flow of information that we are constantly receiving and transmitting, nanosecond after nanosecond, provides us with detailed clues about the direction and progress we are making towards love, our ultimate life mission and a more enlightened state of awareness. These clues or spiritual road signs are designed to guide us onto the highway of our lifeā€™s mission and so that we, as Joseph Campbell reminded us,Ā  follow our bliss. When we fail to pay attention and heed these signs, we eventually discover that we have driven ourselves off the main road and are dramatically now driving to avoid the obstacles of fear and states of attached suffering.

As our thoughts consider a particular person, a past or future event, a subject matter or planned activity, etc., certain feelings arise and come into the frame of our consciousness through our bodyā€™s five senses, and more importantly, the intuition. When this information shows up, it is always accompanied by certain feelings and emotions. Feelings represent our interpretation of energy vibrations. Emotions represent the way our mind aggregates, assembles and interprets vibrations into a scripted form from which the mind better understands the information. When feelings and emotions are properly tuned into and guided by the intuition, we have a precise way to find the true course of love.

Our intuition extends our awareness far beyond the reaches of our bodyā€™s senses. It is the soulā€™s tool, liken to a tribal scout who travels great distances beyond the reaches of its people in search of food, water, shelter, safety and other resources. Miles away, the scout communicates telepathically back to the tribal leader, they have no other way. In one book called ā€œMutant Message Down Underā€ by Mario Morgan, a female city person (her claimed biographical journey), observes this phenomenon as she travels with Australian Aborigines. As the tribe eventually catches up with the scout, she inquires with him to see if he was indeed communicating telepathically with the tribal leader. The scout replies, Yes, in a very matter of fact way. He further states, ā€œYou could do this too, but you have lies in your consciousnessā€, ā€œLiesā€ meaning, none truth and/or attachments to fear and drama.

Therefore, the quality of our mental stillness and aware mindfulness is what determines the level of clarity from which we receive and transmit information and navigate along our lifeā€™s journey. If our mind resides in a place of lies, then it is like our consciousness is being turned into a signal of static that resides between a true TV or radio channel of content. When we are present, peaceful and mindful, we readily tune into the Divine broadcast of love. In this space of mental tuning, we do have the ability to transcend the intuition and experience KNOWING, the awareness of pure truth, non-duality, and only love.

In this state, our thoughts begin to manifest into a form that represents that which we most want and lovingly desire to create. In other words, we create what ultimately serves our highest and best good. In an unconscious and fearful state, the exact opposite occurs, we get what we do not want. All thoughts and spoken words are really prayers. They are spells or incantations.Ā  They are mantras.Ā  Our thoughts, which represent a certain frequency of causation, draw in the matter in the form of people, situations, material objects and/or circumstances.Ā  Ā When we speak our thoughts we amplify the frequency of our creative intent and thus accelerate the reality of this same matter into taking form.

Ultimately, our thoughts, our prayers (or spells, incantations or mantras) call into form the specific realities of either LOVE or fear.Ā  These co-created realities are always our choice, whether we’re consciously aware of this or not. As such, the choices we make can be seen as a series of leaps of faith. Anyone who has ever achieved anything of importance and noteworthy has made the conscious choice to take a leap of faith towards their envisioned dream.

In the film ā€œIndiana Jones and the Last Crusadeā€, the actor Harrison Ford,Ā  plays the role of Indiana Jones (Indie) who leads a team of fellow adventurers and archeologists to find the Holy Grail. They are in a race to find it before German Soldiers who had prior stollen the ancient and secret map from Indie which pointed to the location of the Grail.Ā  Arriving at this location first, the Germans begin their search of a special passage within the cave which the map said would lead to the Grail.

Indie and his team hide carefully above and watched the scene of the German soldiers attempting to get to the Grail. Unable to interpret the spiritual meaning and symbolism of the ancient map, one German soldier after another is commanded to enter the cave passage.Ā  Each soldier literally loses their head in an attempt to enter the boobytrapped special passage. Suddenly, one of Indieā€™s team members accidentally steps on and dislodges a stone that rolls down to the Germans below.Ā  Indie and his team are discovered, captured and brought down to the German commander.

Once there, the German commander demands that Indie retrieve the Grail. Having just watched one German after another die after entering the special passage, Indie refuses. Immediately, the German commander turns his gun to Indieā€™s father, played by Sean Connery, and shoots him in the stomach. The German commander now says to Indie ā€œitā€™s your choice, either your father drinks from the Grail and lives, or does not and dies.ā€ Indie has no choice. He is forced to take the Heroā€™s journey.

The ancient map that disclosed the location of the Grail, which originally launched Indieā€™s quest, is now returned to him. Carefully reading the map and deciphering its message, Indie is able to avoid the first booby trap of decapitating blades as he enters the tunnel. Next, he must step on specific stones that spell out an ancient and old dialect name for God. A misspelling and misstep, which he almost does, is designed to cause the stone floor to fall away and plummet the spiritually unworthy to their death.

Having passed what he thought was one of the greatest challenges, Indie now comes to the end of the caveā€™s special tunnel. There, between where he stands and the opening to the cave of the Grail is a crevasse, hundreds of feet across and thousands of feet down.Ā  On the other side, Indie sees the last of the mystical Knights of King Arthurā€™s Round Table.Ā  He still stands as a watchful guard over the final entrance to the cave of the Grail. Suddenly and at the same time of this observation, Indie hears the cry of his team who yells through the tunnel, that time is running out your father is near death, “hurry!”

Frantically, Indie looks for a way to cross to the other side. There is no rope to swing across and clearly no way to jump across. He consults the ancient map. It clearly depicts a person walking in midair to the other side. Indie has no other choice and steps to the edge of the crevasse. His facial expression quickly shifts from fear and panic to a fearless resolve and KNOWING that he has no other choice. He commits to taking this leap of faith.

Bravely, Indie courageously steps his foot out to what appears to be a perilous fall. Instead, as he steps out and down, his foot is met and supported by an illusionary bridge, a bridge that could not have been seen nor experienced unless someone had first had the courage to take the leap of faith.

ā€œWhen you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.ā€ PataƱjali, the compiler of the Yoga Sutras (Sanskrit: 150 BCE)

Step out to the edge of your heartā€™s greatest calling, brave and courageous adventurer. Still, your mind, listen deeply within, follow your intuition and take the leap of faith that will always bridge you from fear of the unknown to the KNOWN and Holy Grail of your lifeā€™s loving purpose and realized bliss.

SUGGESTED EXERCISES

From this moment forward, observe and take note of any and all things that appear to be providing you clues about what your life purpose is and what actions to take to bring this into reality. The Universe is always providing us clues. The more we PAY ATTENTION, the more the clues show up. The greater the action we take on these TRUE and INTUITIVE CLUES, the faster things manifest into form.

In order to manifest your life purpose and dreams come true, knock on the inner door of your heart with the greatest intensity and ask, ā€œReveal to me what my life purpose is and show me how to use my talents to make a loving contribution to our world?ā€

Next, listen with great discernment for any and all messages that come back to you. You will know them because of their loving and inspiring nature. Follow only these!

Next, once you have received this guidance, prepare yourself to take any and all lovingly guided leaps of faith. This could mean that you make a phone call to someone you thought would never give you the time of day and/or take your call. This could mean that you express a deep and/or loving thought to someone you feared might judge or reject you. This could mean to go someplace that seems completely illogical and yet, at the same time, this thought at your gut feels both fun, exciting and sure.

Know, that taking a leap of faith towards the fulfillment of your life purpose may feel scary. Ultimately, you will wisely come to know this feeling is really, great excitement. ā€œBe boldā€, as Goethe said, ā€œand mighty forces will come to your aid.ā€

Always remember that persistence and tenacity are water and fertilizer that will sprout your ideas into reality. Let your mantra always be, ā€œSuccess is my only option!!! Read and reread the inspirational quotes below from some of our worldā€™s greatest thinkers. Anytime you feel yourself stumble, immediately pick yourself up, brush yourself off, get altitude and perspective on the experience so that you understand the gift and the wisdom that it has shown you and then, take another step.

ā€œYou donā€™t have to see the entire staircase, just take the next step.ā€ Martin Luther King
