One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is when people give their time to make sure the holiday is fun for the less-fortunate. A group of homeless veterans got a home-cooked meal, made by the people who know best what they’ve gone through.
Members of the local chapter of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and their families and friends served Thanksgiving lunch at St. Francis House, a homeless shelter for veterans.
“It’s a little heartbreaking, but it also, to me personally, is a little bit joyful to know, like I was saying, there’s somebody here looking out for their interests as a veteran,” said Danny Hackworth, the chapter’s commander.
