A U.S. lawmaker says the Department of Veterans Affairs’ response to a veteran’s suicide lacks much-needed answers.
Veterans Affairs officials released a statement Thursday saying they cannot share details about Sgt. Brandon Ketchum, who recently died by suicide hours after seeking inpatient treatment at the Iowa City veterans hospital.
Ketchum, who lived in Bettendorf andĀ served inĀ Iraq and Afghanistan,Ā died July 8Ā at age 33.Ā Hours before his death, he wrote in a Facebook post that he was denied inpatient care.
