Thousands of Veterans to get new TBI evaluations

Over 24,000 veterans will get new traumatic brain injury evaluations across the United States, after the Department of Veterans Affairs says the veterans were not evaluated by the proper doctors.

Between 2007 and 2015, thousands of veterans were not evaluated by the four types of proper doctors for those procedures.

“We let these Veterans down,” Secretary Robert McDonald said. “That is why we are taking every step necessary to grant equitable relief to those affected to ensure they receive the full benefits to which they are entitled.”
