Thirty men who served their country but were forgotten finally got the honor they deserved Saturday.
Cremated remains of the men, veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, were interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
“No one else has done it and it needs to be done,” said Bill Hilliard, a director of the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 1071.
Hilliard and others from the VVA found the remains, which were never claimed by next of kin, at a local mortuary.
The group researched them and discovered their names and military service record.
