The Arizona Department of Veteran Services is making a big push this year to advocate for women veterans.
Today, the first of four Military & Woman’s Veteran Expo 2016 was held at Glendale Community College.
Veterans had the opportunity to meet with various benefit administrators in a vendor section as well as learn information on what services are available to them from keynote speakers.
This is part of a bigger push by the department’s director, Colonel Wanda Wright, to meet the specific needs of women veterans.
“We’ve had about 100 ladies show up and we’ve provided them some benefits and services and education so that they can leave here and know how to work within the system to help them with their veteran needs,” Wright said.
