The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs revealed Monday that the personal information of nearly 1,000 former service members in the state may have been compromised.

There is an ongoing investigation into the matter, but preliminary results show someone unauthorized to handle veterans’ information had access to 967 DD214’s, or Certificates of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.hire vets

The ODVA says there is no evidence to suggest the information has been misused.
