Army veteran Clifton Jackson had never sought legal help before, but with a mound of traffic tickets he knew he needed help.
He heard about a free legal clinic geared toward veterans, so he decided to attend.
Almost a year later, attorney Randall Scott has helped Jackson, 56, get some of the old tickets dismissed. After paying a fine, Jackson will have his driver’s license once again.
“He helped me out tremendously, a whole lot. Stuff that I couldn’t get done,” Jackson said.
Jackson is one of about 228 veterans who have received free legal assistance through clinics organized by Metroplex Veterans Legal Services. The clinics assist those who are either low-income, homeless, unemployed or disabled.
