It’s been 50 years since the beginning of the Vietnam War. On Saturday, the Kootenai County Veterans Council honored those who fought there.
The Vietnam War was a time of great conflict in our nation. It was a time when soldiers returning from war weren’t celebrated by the country they fought for.
“They didn’t get it when they came home and they deserve it just as much as the troops that are coming home today,” said Pam Moist, an organizer of the event with the Patriot Guard.
On the 50th anniversary, the Kootenai County Veterans Council wants to remind us of these veterans’ sacrifices.
