Health Net Subsidiary Improves Care Access for Veterans

Wholly owned subsidiary – Health Net Federal Services, LLC – has selected the leading health care provider in Colorado and Kansas – Centura Health – to help increase veterans’ access to convenient and superior quality care.

Per an agreement signed between the two entities, veterans will be provided enhanced access to high-value medical care through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA’s) Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) and Veterans Choice programs. For this, Centura Health, along with its 600 primary care physicians and specialists, has been chosen as the major network provider for VA’s PC3 and Veterans Choice programs.

Veterans constantly endanger their lives to ensure the nation’s safety and are thus in need of quality health care on time. However, often veterans cannot access the requisite care owing to geographic constraints or limited capacity. To address this issue, The Veterans Choice program and the PC3 were created.

When local VA medical centers are not able to provide the required care to veterans, the role of PC3 becomes inevitable. Under PC3, veterans who are eligible and have a valid VA authorization are able to receive community-based primary care, inpatient specialty care, outpatient specialty care, mental health care, limited newborn care for female veterans and limited emergency care, in their local communities.
