For about a year, many veterans affairs centers across the county have been under fire for care and scheduling.
Veterans are also having those problems in Central Georgia at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin.
Although the new director, Maryalice Morro, may have been on the job for about a week, she’s ready to make change.
“It’s about getting the healthcare that they need and my job is to make sure that that happens in a safe, quality, patient customer, patient focused, patient centered environment,” said Morro.
More than 200 veterans and their families filled the medical center for a forum to share hear and share concerns with Morro.
Some veterans have problems with how the VA’s homeless program is set up, wanting it to be longer.
“From what I heard, the program used to be a year, year-long program. Then it went down to six months, now it’s down to 90 days. So I was wondering is there any way you could speak to someone, make a change or something?” said Alexander Williams, a retired marine.
