A veterans’ services fair and forum at Gloucester’s City Hall Saturday not only drew a number of Cape Ann military veterans looking to learn about benefits through the Veterans Administration, but one of the region’s highest-profile vets, too.
New 6th District U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, who rose to the level of captain in the U.S. Marines and served four deployments to Iraq, was among the visitors to Saturday’s event, hosted by the city of Gloucester’s Office of Veterans Services and a coalition of local veterans groups.
Those included the Lester S. Wass Post 3 of the American Legion, AMVETS, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.
Moulton, who has vowed to push for improvements in the VA and in its delivery of services, visited with Gloucester Veterans Services Director Adam Curcuru and spoke with other veterans who turned out for the event. The fair featured representatives from several service offering veterans advice and assistance in registering for benefits.
