“This donation is but a small way of saying thank you to all of those brave men and women who have served and are currently serving our nation,” said social studies teacher Susan Longo, who coordinated the event. “The sacrifices they make in order to keep us safe can never be repaid, but our gratitude, respect and appreciation are always present.”
Eighth-grade students Ben Temples and Colin Santarpia organized a survey for seventh- and eighth-grade students to choose the top three posters. The winning years were 1996, chosen for showcasing diversity, 1999 for courage and 2008 for unity.
The surveys incorporated digital learning with writing skills as the students justified their choices for the best posters.
