Nonprofit veterans service organization proud to introduce more easily navigable site
WASHINGTON – The Disabled Veterans National Foundation, a nonprofit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, is pleased to announce its newly redesigned website, which is now live at www.dvnf.org.
As part of the six year-old organization’s efforts to improve its programs, services and overall image, Disabled Veterans National Foundation launched the new site to give it a more modern look, and to help visitors more easily find what they are looking for.
DVNF has been in a mode of change this fall, in part as a result of its hiring of new Chief Executive Officer, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Joseph VanFonda. VanFonda, a recently retired Marine, wanted to immediately kick off a new initiative, called Benefits and Resources Navigation (BaRN).
The goal of the BaRN initiative is to help veterans more easily find and obtain a benefit or a resource they are in need of, with the help of DVNF’s trained Navigators. One major part of the initiative is to have a more comprehensive listing of available benefits and resources, which was a crucial aspect of the website’s overhaul.
The website now has a smoother design, that is much simpler to navigate. Three main sections on the homepage are categorized for specific individuals: veterans, veteran organizations and donors. The website also holds a more in-depth news section for all to see the happenings of the veteran community and DVNF.
“This website looks and feels better, and will be much more effective in our goal to engage all who visit it,” said DVNF CEO Joseph VanFonda (SgtMaj Ret). “We want veterans to not only turn to DVNF for help, but want our website to be a resource in itself for them to have in their back pocket.”
Though some minor cosmetic changes are still being implemented to the site, VanFonda stressed that it is fully operational. The organization expects all website changes to be completed by Thanksgiving.
