Growing Demand for Communication’s Experience Creates Opportunities for Veterans

Addison, Texas – Jan. 14, 2013 – Fusion Solutions, Inc., a leader in consulting and staffing services for telecom, networking communications and IT, has launched Pathways. The initiative helps former military communications personnel transition into equivalent civilian positions quickly and easily.

Pathways was launched because the qualified labor pool was not keeping pace with the explosion of wireless technologies.  The demand for field engineers, able to install and maintain the wireless carrier’s networks, was skyrocketing as companies like T-Mobile and Sprint launch their modernization projects and other carriers, such as AT&T and Verizon, continue their build-outs. Unfortunately, there were not enough experienced workers to perform these duties, so Fusion Solutions set out to solve the problem and fill the telecom resource gap.

Through Pathways, Fusion Solutions sources and qualifies transitioning military personnel with communications expertise who are trained and qualified.  The company then partners with clients to place and provide training in the latest wireless network technologies.  Because of the extensive communications training provided in the military, the transition to commercial technologies is minimal.

According to Vic Velevis, Vice President of Sales at Fusion Solutions, “Some of us at Fusion are former military, and we’re familiar with the great training the military provides. We presented our initial idea to recruit transitioning military to several clients, and they endorsed it. Many of our client managers are former military themselves, so they knew the background and experience that ex-military personnel could offer. Next, we built a team to specialize in this area – people from the military to recruit the military. Now, we’re interfacing with military transition assistances offices and going on posts and bases to recruit.”

Pathways has been very well received by Fusion Solutions’ clients and several of them are already participating in the program by hiring Pathways’ candidates.  The program will continue to be rolled out in 2013.
